No person shall interfere with the Town of Delmar, its agents or employees while installing, connecting, reading or removing any water meter or during the execution of a water cutoff.

No person shall install, remove, alter, deface, injure, destroy, or in any manner tamper with a water meter or any structure, appurtenance or equipment connected to, or a part of, the Town of Delmar water system.
Any violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of $500 for each such violation, or imprisonment of 30 days, or both. In addition, if wastage of water or use of unmetered water results from the violation, the violator shall be responsible for all costs and damage associated therewith, including, but not limited to, payment for the water used on a per gallon estimate at the current rate charged to customer.
