[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough

The Palmyra Green Team (hereinafter "Green Team") is hereby
established as an advisory committee to the Borough of Palmyra governing
body.
The general purposes for the Green Team shall include but not
be limited to:
A.Â
Managing Palmyra's participation in the Sustainable Jersey program;
B.Â
Encouraging the Palmyra staff to pursue sustainable practices where
possible and implement the governing body's economic and social
goals, as they relate to the environment and sustainability in New
Jersey, and environmental goals;
C.Â
Encouraging the existing groups within Palmyra whose actions affect
economic and social issues, as they relate to the environment and
sustainability in New Jersey, and environmental issues, so as to eliminate
duplication and assure that important tasks are covered;
D.Â
Coordinating input for the website;
E.Â
Providing suggestions for further research and action to the governing
body;
F.Â
Providing suggestions to the Land Use Board to promote economic and
social issues, as they relate to the environment and sustainability
in New Jersey, and environmental issues, so to be considered in their
deliberations and actions;
G.Â
Forming various environmental subcommittees of the Green Team;
H.Â
Soliciting and evaluating economic and social ideas and suggestions
from the community, as they relate to the environment and sustainability
in New Jersey, and environmental ideas and suggestions from the community;
I.Â
Promoting the causes of sustainability within Palmyra.
Term of office.
A.Â
The Mayor shall appoint all members of the Green Team with the advice
and consent of Council. Three of the members shall be members of Council
and the other members shall be residents of Palmyra. All existing
members shall continue as members through December 31, 2019. Commencing
January 2020, five individuals shall be appointed for a one-year term
ending December 31, 2020, and four individuals shall be appointed
for two-year terms ending December 31, 2021. Thereafter all terms
shall be for two years. The Green Team shall elect from among its
members a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary.
B.Â
The Green Team shall recruit and encourage volunteers to work on
Green Team projects. The names of the Green Team volunteers shall
be periodically submitted to the Palmyra Administrator.
The Green Team shall meet monthly and be open to the public.
Additional meetings of the Green Team may be scheduled by the Chair
at his/her discretion.
