It is the purpose of this district to provide for appropriate Township buildings and facilities necessary for the proper functioning of local government and the provision of obligatory public services. This overlay shall only apply to properties under the direct ownership of the Township. Further, this district is to provide open recreation spaces and to preserve physical amenities of the Township by reserving designated natural areas. In addition, it is the intent of this district to achieve the applicable purposes and community development objectives of Article
I.
The following uses shall be permitted by special exception, when authorized by the Zoning Hearing Board, subject to the provisions of §
155-2005 and the specific sections listed below:
A. Any use not specifically permitted but deemed appropriate and necessary
by the Board of Supervisors for use of a specific Township owned property,
which use is not inherently a nuisance.
Except as otherwise indicated in this chapter, accessory uses customarily incidental to any of the principal uses in this district shall be permitted by right on the same lot as the principal use and subject to the applicable provisions for accessory uses of Article
XVI. The following specific accessory uses shall also be permitted by right subject to the applicable provisions of Article
XVI:
A. Uses customarily accessory and incidental to any park, recreation,
or open space use, including parking, refreshment, and service uses
or buildings; and rental uses approved by the Board of Supervisors.
