[Adopted 9-15-2010 by Ord. No. 2010-11]
The City hereby establishes a Veterans' Advisory Board whose purpose is to assist and advise the City in developing and implementing solutions, where possible, that may alleviate or remedy the problems and needs of our local veterans.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, shall appoint the members from names solicited from the local veterans organizations.
There shall be one voting member, each who represents those organizations chartered by Congress, namely the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Special Forces, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Representatives of each local office of Federal Senators and Congress members, and State Legislators, will be invited to attend meetings. The Board will elect a Veterans Liaison Officer from within the membership. A similar majority vote will satisfy this requirement.
