Every person riding a bicycle upon a roadway shall be granted all the rights and shall be subject to all the duties applicable to the driver of a motor vehicle under the Nebraska Rules of the Road, except as to the special bicycle regulations in the Rules or this article and except as to those provisions which by their nature can have no application. Every bicycle shall be operated with reasonable regard to the safety of the operator and any other persons upon the streets and public highways.
3. 
Persons riding bicycles shall observe all traffic signs and stop at all stop signs.
4. 
Every person riding or propelling a bicycle upon any street or other public highway shall observe all traffic rules and regulations applicable thereto, and shall turn only at intersections, signal for all turns, ride at the right-hand side of the street or highway, pass to the left when passing overtaken vehicles and individuals that are slower moving, and shall pass vehicles to the right when meeting.

Every person riding a bicycle upon the roadway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable, exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction.
2. 
Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall ride only in single file, except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles.
3. 
Whenever a usable path for bicycles has been provided adjacent to a roadway, bicycle riders shall use such path and shall not use the roadway.
4. 
No person shall ride a bicycle upon any street, sidewalk, public right-of-way or other public space, whether on public or private property, where signs have been posted by the city or owner of the property prohibiting the riding of bicycles thereon.
5. 
Whenever any person is riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk, such person shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before overtaking and passing such pedestrian.

Any person who rides a bicycle shall not ride other than upon or astride a permanent or regular seat attached thereto. (Ref. 60-6,315(1) RS Neb.)

Any person who rides a bicycle shall not remove his or her feet from the pedals and shall have at least one hand upon the handlebars. (Ref. 60-6,315(2) RS Neb.)

No bicycle shall be used to carry more persons at one time than the number for which it is designed and equipped. (Ref. 60-6,315(4) RS Neb.)

Any person who rides a bicycle shall not carry any package, bundle, or article which prevents the operator from keeping at least one hand upon the handlebars. (Ref. 60-6,315(3) RS Neb.)
5. 
Any person who rides upon any bicycle shall not attach himself, herself, or the bicycle to any moving vehicle upon any roadway, and it shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to suffer or permit any person traveling upon any bicycle to cling to or attach himself or herself or his or her bicycle to such vehicle so driven and operated by him or her. No person riding a bicycle shall at any time follow fire trucks or other emergency vehicles.

No bicycle shall be permitted on any street, sidewalk or public right-of-way from one-half hour after sunset until one-half hour before sunrise unless such bicycle is equipped with a headlight and red reflector on the rear, both firmly attached to the bicycle. The headlight shall give a clear, white light and must be visible from a distance of at least five hundred (500) feet on a clear night. The red rear reflector must be visible from a distance of at least six hundred (600) feet on a clear night when directly in front of lawful lower beam headlights on a motor vehicle.
2. 
Every bicycle shall be equipped with a brake which will enable the operator to stop the bicycle within 25 feet of the point of initial braking when moving at a speed of 10 miles per hour on dry, level, clean pavements.
