For the purposes of this division, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ELECTRIC CHARGING STATION
A designated parking space provided with an electrical energy outlet designed to charge the battery of an electric vehicle.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A vehicle that operates, either partially or exclusively, on electrical energy from a charging station or other electric energy source that is stored in the vehicle's battery for propulsion purposes. "Electric vehicle" includes a battery electric vehicle; a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle; a neighborhood electric vehicle; and electric scooters or electric motorcycles.

(a) 
The Township Manager is hereby authorized to designate electric charging station parking spaces within the following locations:
Two parking spaces within the Municipal Building Parking Lot (Teaneck Road and Cedar Lane)
(b) 
The Township Police Department is hereby directed and authorized to have lines or markings durably painted or placed upon the curb, sidewalk, street or parking lot surface so as to mark off individual parking spaces in the designated areas of the locations described in § 36-32.22 and in such other locations as may hereafter be established.

(a) 
It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing a vehicle in a designated electric charging station parking space unless the vehicle is an electric vehicle and is connected for electric charging purposes.
(b) 
Nonelectric vehicles are prohibited from parking in electric charging station parking spaces.
(c) 
Electric vehicles are authorized to park in spaces designated as electric charging station parking spaces only during the time the vehicles are connected for electric charging purposes. When the vehicle is no longer charging, the owner or operator of said vehicle shall be required to remove the vehicle from the electric charging station parking space.
(d) 
No person shall park or leave standing a vehicle in a designated electric charging station for a period of time in excess of four hours or longer than is necessary to obtain a full electric charge, whichever first occurs.

(a) 
The fee to use parking spaces within the Township identified as electric charging station parking spaces shall be set forth in Chapter 2, Charter/Administrative Code, Appendix III, Fees and Charges for Certain Township Services, of the Code of the Township of Teaneck for when the electric vehicle is connected to the charging station.
(b) 
In order for an electric vehicle to utilize the charging station, the operator of the electric vehicle must first create an online account with ChargePoint by downloading a smartphone application on his/her phone. When any vehicle shall be parked in any electric charging station parking space, the operator thereof shall, upon entering the electric charging station parking space, immediately proceed with the payment of the sum required for such electric charging station parking space using the smart phone application.
