There shall be a Borough Auditor appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of one year. The Borough Auditor shall receive compensation based upon the professional services resolution adopted by the Mayor and Council pursuant to the budget appropriations.

The Borough Auditor shall be a registered municipal accountant as required by N.J.S.A. 40A:5-1 et seq. and shall prepare the Borough's annual audit as set forth in the aforesaid statute. The Borough Auditor shall form such additional auditing tasks as shall be assigned by the Borough Council or the Borough Administrator.
