City of Bee Cave, TX Generally

The words and phrases used in this article, unless the context otherwise indicates, shall have the following meanings:

A motor vehicle, watercraft, outboard motor, or any part thereof that is inoperable and is left unattended on public property for more than forty-eight (48) hours, or a motor vehicle, watercraft, outboard motor, or any part thereof that has remained on public property for a period of more than forty-eight (48) hours, or a motor vehicle, watercraft, outboard motor, or any part thereof that has remained on private property without the consent of the owner or person in control of the property for more than forty-eight (48) hours, or a motor vehicle, watercraft, outboard motor, or any part thereof left unattended on the right-of-way of any designated municipal, county, state, or federal highway within the city for more than forty-eight (48) hours.

Antique auto.

Passenger cars or trucks thirty-five (35) or more years old.

City.

The City of Bee Cave, Texas, or its authorized employees, representatives, or agents.

Collector.

The owner of one or more antique or special interest vehicles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades, or disposes of special interest or antique vehicles or parts thereof for his own use in order to restore, preserve, and maintain an antique or special interest vehicle for historic interest.

Junked vehicle.

Any vehicle that is self-propelled and:

(1)

Does not have lawfully attached to it:

(A)

An unexpired license plate; or

(B)

A valid vehicle registration certificate; and

(2)

Is wrecked, dismantled, or partially dismantled, or discarded; or

(3)

Is inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than:

(A)

Seventy-two (72) consecutive hours, if the vehicle is on public property; or

(B)

Thirty (30) consecutive days, if the vehicle is on private property.

Law enforcement agency.

(1)

The state department of public safety;

(2)

The police department or marshal's office of a municipality;

(3)

The police department of an institution of higher learning;

(4)

The law enforcement department of the Lower Colorado River Authority; or

(5)

A sheriff or constable.

Motor vehicle.

A vehicle that is subject to registration under chapter 501 of the Texas Transportation Code.

Outboard motor.

An outboard motor subject to registration under chapter 31, Texas Parks and Wildlife Code.

Person.

Any individual, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company, trust, or other legal entity.

Special interest vehicle.

A motor vehicle of any age that has not been altered or modified from original manufacturer's specifications and, because of historic interest, is being preserved by hobbyists.

Vehicle.

A motor vehicle, outboard motor, or watercraft as defined herein.

Watercraft.

A vessel subject to registration under chapter 31, Texas Parks and Wildlife Code.
