Sidewalks shall be installed in city street rights-of-way adjoining any lot on which a building is being constructed, prior to the building official approving final inspection of the building for which a building permit has been issued. Responsibility for installation of the sidewalk shall be with the owner of the lot on which the building (for which the building permit has been issued) is located.

Installation of sidewalks, as described in the above section 3.05.001 shall be a condition for final inspection approval of all new residential and nonresidential buildings (not including building additions, renovations or construction of accessory storage buildings) located on lots in subdivisions or resubdivisions approved by official action of the Planning and Zoning Commission and/or City Council after July 9, 1985.

Sidewalks required pursuant to this article shall be constructed in conformance with all applicable standards and specifications promulgated by the city engineer of the city, including those reflected in Standard Specifications and Details for Streets, Drainage and Utility Construction.
