§ 4.01.001 Statement of policy.

It is hereby declared to be the policy of the city to bring about through fair, orderly and lawful procedures, the opportunity of each person to obtain housing without regard to race, color, creed, sex, national origin, physical or mental handicap, marital status or age.

§ 4.01.002 Discriminatory housing prohibited.

The city hereby prohibits any discriminatory housing practice which would violate 42 U.S.C. 3604-3606, the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended.

§ 4.01.003 Penalty.

If a discrimination in housing practice is found to have in fact occurred and the case has been referred to municipal court, the respondent shall be assessed a penalty as provided for in the general penalty provision found in section 1.01.009 of this code.
