No vehicle may be used to provide transportation-for-hire services
within the city limits without complying with the vehicle standards
required under this chapter.

(a) In its annual operating authority permit application, an operating
authority must attest to the city secretary that every vehicle performing
transportation-for-hire services under its operating authority permit:
(1) Possesses a current, state-issued registration;
(2) Has been inspected by a state-authorized vehicle inspector;
(3) Has insurance that meets the minimum requirements required for transportation-for-hire
vehicles under state law; and
(4) Is mechanically sound, road worthy, and complies with state safety
and equipment standards as provided by law.
(b) An operating authority commits an offense if it falsely certifies, requests another to falsely certify, or intentionally causes another to falsely certify that a vehicle performing transportation-for-hire services under its operation authority permit meets the standards in subsection
(a).
