(a)
The code enforcement official shall be selected by the city manager, answerable to the city manager and may be terminated by the city manager, with or without cause. The city manager may engage an entity to serve as the code enforcement official or to provide consultant services as the city manager deems necessary for code enforcement and other related responsibilities; and may authorize such contracts with consultants, for such services as the work may require.
(b)
The position of code enforcement official may be a part-time job or a full-time job, as determined by the city manager. The code enforcement official may be an individual or a corporate entity.
