Where devices for feeding gaseous chlorine are installed, they
shall meet with the requirements of the city and state health requirements.

Each gaseous chlorinator shall meet the following minimum requirements:
(2) Vacuum
or semivacuum operation type. (Pressure feed machine will not be accepted).
(3) The chlorine
feed shall be in water solution.
(4) Machines
shall be equipped with pressure and vacuum relief vent.
(5) Arrangements
shall be made for reading the rate of chlorine feed in pounds per
twenty-four (24) hours.
(6) Chlorinators
shall be constructed to automatically shut off the gas in case of
vacuum failure.
(7) Each
chlorinator shall be provided with a water pressure gauge.
(8) A pressure
gauge shall be provided to register chlorine cylinder pressure.
(9) The water
supply line shall be provided with a control valve and a strainer.
(10) Backflow
protection shall be provided when the water supply is connected to
the potable water service.
(11) Where
the water supply pressure is less than that necessary to operate the
chlorinator at its maximum rated capacity, a booster pump shall be
provided.
(12) The
supply of gaseous chlorine shall be stored as prescribed by the city
health officer.
