This article applies to the municipal court of record created by Ordinance 2533, passed September 16, 1969.

In addition to collection of all fees and court costs authorized by state law, the municipal court shall assess and collect an administration fee of $10.00 from each person taking a driving safety course for the purpose of dismissing a traffic citation.

In addition to collection of all fees and court costs authorized by state law and as ordained in section 34-27, the municipal court shall assess and collect a building security fee of $3.00 from each person convicted in a trial for a misdemeanor offense in the city’s municipal court of record. All fees collected under this section shall be paid to the director of finance to be held on deposit by such person in a fund to be known as the Municipal Court Building Security Fund. All funds held may be dispensed, as needed, by the director of finance to provide security services for buildings housing the municipal court of record for the city.

All persons convicted in municipal court of a misdemeanor offense shall be assessed a technology fee of $4.00. All fees so collected shall be deposited in a fund to be known as the Municipal Court Technology Fund. Expenditures from this fund shall be made by city council resolution for the purchase of municipal court technological enhancements as authorized by state law.

In addition to collection of all fees and court costs authorized by state law and as ordained in this article, the municipal court shall assess and collect a Child Safety Fund fee of $5.00 from each person convicted of a stopping, standing, or parking violation in the municipal court of record for the city. All fees collected under this section shall be paid to the director of finance to be held on deposit by such person in a fund to be known as the Municipal Court Child Safety Fund. All funds held may be dispensed, as needed, by the director of finance to fund the city’s share of the school crossing guard program, operated in conjunction with the Wichita Falls Independent School District.

In accordance with Texas Ann. C.C.P. art. 103.0031, there is hereby imposed an additional fee of 30 percent on all debts and accounts receivable (i.e., fines, fees, court costs, restitution, and other debts) that are more than 60 days past due and have been referred to a private firm for collection.
