There is hereby established the office of Court Clerk for the City of Pevely Municipal Division of the Jefferson County Circuit Court.

A.
The Court Clerk shall be an employee of the City and shall have ministerial duties as are enjoined upon him/her by Statutes, by ordinance or by the current Judge of Pevely Municipal Court.

The Court Clerk shall:
a.
Be responsible for the organizing, setting up and managing of the Court office.
b.
Supervise the daily activities and operations of the Court office, whether or not Court is in session.
c.
Keep all records of the Court, including monetary accountability of all Court revenues, as well as cash bonds.
d.
Be responsible for the operation of the Violations Bureau as established by the Judge of the Municipal Court.
e.
Be solely responsible to the Judge for carrying out all instructions and Court orders.
The Court Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the members of the Board of Aldermen to serve for an unspecified term at the will of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
The Court Clerk shall attend all sessions of the Pevely Municipal Division of the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court and may be required to be present at the Pevely City Hall to perform the duties of the office at such additional times as the Mayor or Board of Aldermen may specify. Compensation for the Court Clerk shall be established by ordinance from time to time.
Within fifteen (15) days after appointment and before entering upon the discharge of the duties of office, the Court Clerk shall give bond to the City in an amount to be determined by the Board of Aldermen conditioned upon the faithful performance of said duties and the said Court Clerk will pay over all monies belonging to the City, as provided by law, that may come into the Court Clerk's hands.
