The city adopts, as part of its standard housing regulations, the 2003 International Property Maintenance Code and any amendments thereto.

Within the International Property Maintenance Code or any other code, when reference is made to the duties of certain officials named therein, that designated official of the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in said code shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of said code is concerned.

The city declares every substandard building or structure as herein defined to be a public nuisance and subject to repair, vacation or demolition to abate such nuisance as herein provided in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the occupants and the public.
