The city council of the City of Sundown shall be authorized to appoint a city recorder and judge of the municipal court of the City of Sundown, Texas.

The recorder and judge first appointed shall hold such term of office corresponding to the unexpired term of the mayor of the City of Sundown, Texas and every two years thereafter a recorder and judge shall be appointed for a term of two years.
