That pursuant to the provisions of Article 1161, Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes of Texas, the City of Sundown may appoint a city clerk, and the said appointment shall be effective upon the appointee taking the official oath of office and upon the making of a bond in the amount of and under the towns required by the mayor and city council.

That the city clerk so appointed and upon his qualification in this manner hereinabove provided shall also be the treasurer and assessor and collector of taxes of the City of Sundown, Texas, and shall be invested and charged with all the power, rights and duties conferred upon and imposed by the general laws of Texas, upon the clerk, treasurer, and assessor and collector of taxes of cities and towns.
