When in the judgment of the city administrator or other responsible employee of the City of Sundown, it is necessary to place a stop sign at any given intersection or other appropriate location, a stop sign may be placed immediately at that location to protect the health and general safety of motor vehicle operators and pedestrians. A list of all new stop sign locations shall be presented at the soonest possible meeting of the Board of Aldermen for approval, but the city administrator or other responsible city employee may cause a stop sign to be installed as necessary to protect the general public.

All motor vehicles and other modes of transportation shall come to a complete stop wherever a stop sign is placed in accordance with general traffic laws established by the State of Texas. Failure to stop violates the general traffic laws of the State of Texas and shall be punishable upon conviction.
