There is hereby levied upon each and every dog more than four (4) months of age, which is kept, harbored or maintained by the owner thereof in the corporate limits of the City of Sundown, an annual license fee of ($5.00) five dollars, which license fee is due to expire on December 31st of the year issued.

Citizens who wish to maintain more than 3 dogs and 3 cats, and do not operate kennels, breeding or grooming establishments, may purchase a permit to allow up to 6 dogs and 6 cats. The permit will be issued at the discretion of the animal control officer. The cost of the permit will be $1.00 annually.

(a) 
Fees for animals that have been impounded for being at large or otherwise placed in the animal shelter will be as follows:
(1) 
Animals with no current city tag:
Initial fee: $25.00.
Daily fee: $5.00.
(2) 
Animals with current city tags:
Initial fee: $15.00.
Daily fee: $5.00.
The initial fee covers the first day of impoundment.
(b) 
Fees for euthanasia and/or disposal:
(1) 
Owners requesting euthanasia or disposal of an animal shall pay a fee of $25.00 for humane disposal for each animal euthanized and/or disposed.
(2) 
The owner of the animal requesting euthanasia and/or disposal of their animal must reside in the city limits at the time of the request.
