The technical sections of the editions of the construction and building codes listed below are hereby adopted as part of this division:

(2) 
The International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, 2018 edition;
(3) 
The International Plumbing Code, 2018 edition;
(4) 
The International Fuel Gas Code, 2018 edition;
(5) 
The International Mechanical Code, 2018 edition;
(6) 
The International Fire Code, 2021 edition, including all appendices;
(7) 
The National Electrical Code, 2020 edition;
(8) 
The International Code Council Electric Administrative Provisions, 2018 edition;
(9) 
The International Energy Conservation Code, 2018 edition;
(10) 
The International Wildland-Urban and Property Maintenance Code, 2018 edition; and
(11) 
The International Property Maintenance Code, 2021 edition, as amended below.

The building official shall be responsible for reviewing code changes for applicability to the city. The applicable technical changes may be included in the construction requirements by filing a copy of the changes with the city secretary and posting a copy in a prominent place at the city office for fourteen (14) days.

(a) 
Aluminum wiring for electrical purposes.
Aluminum wiring shall not be used in the city for electrical purposes in residential, apartment, commercial or other buildings.
(b) 
Location of certain hot water heaters.
Gas-fired hot water heaters shall not be located in the garage, and if located adjacent to the garage, the water heater location shall be adequately ventilated.
(c) 
Insulation:
Only permanent fire-resistant insulation shall be allowed.
(d) 
Energy conservation:
Construction shall be in conformance with the energy conservation requirements of Article 24 of the BOCA Basic/National Building Code adopted in this division.

Section 112.5 Cost of Emergency Repairs: Shall read: "Costs incurred in the performance of emergency work shall be paid by the City. The City shall certify all administrative expenses and costs of securing, repairing, or demolishing a building or buildings by the City or by persons doing so under contract with the City, as a charge which shall be assessed the owner thereof, and which shall constitute a lien on the land on which the building or buildings are or were situated. Such charge shall bear interest at the rate of 10% per annum until paid."
(h) 
Section 113.2 Notices and Orders: Delete.
(i) 
Section 302.4 Weeds: Insert Six (6) Inches. Shall read: "Upon failure of the owner or agent having charge of property to cut and destroy weeds after service of a notice of violation, they shall be subject to abatement and prosecution in accordance with Chapter 11, Offenses-Miscellaneous, Article III, Condition of Premises of the City's Code of Ordinances."

Section 304.14 Insect screens: Insert January 1 and December 31.
(k) 
Section 306 Component Serviceability: Delete.
(l)
