A person is eligible to submit their name for inclusion on the ballot for election to the town council, including the office of mayor of the town, if the person:
(1) 
Has met all of the requirements of section 141.001 of the Texas Election Code; and
(2) 
Has met all of the applicable requirements of section 22.032 of the Texas Local Government Code.

(a) 
Generally.
After election or appointment to the town council, a person may become disqualified if any of the qualifications listed in section 1.03.001 are found to be untrue at the time of election or appointment.
(b) 
Moving primary residence.
If any member of the council subsequently moves his or her primary residence from the town, then a vacancy shall exist on the council and a new member shall be appointed in the manner provided by law.
