Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code section 21.001, the town council hereby enacts the election of alderman under a place system.

Pursuant to TLGC, section 21.001(c), the town council hereby stipulates that each alderman will be assigned an even number or an odd number in accordance with the year their term of office expires, i.e., if an alderman’s office expires in an even-numbered year he/she will be assigned an even number.

When an incumbent aldermen’s term of office expires, any candidate for the office of alderman shall file an application for a specific place on the town council.

The ballot for an election under the place system shall show each office of alderman as a separate office designated by place number.
