The town council hereby establishes the office of health inspector/officer. Such office shall answer directly to the town administrator. Such office shall be filled by appointment by the mayor with the consent of the town council. The term of office shall run concurrent with the mayor.

The health officer/inspector shall be responsible for enforcing article 6.02 of the Code of Ordinances (the town health code) and conducting the inspections as required by the town health code.

A health officer/inspector may be removed from office for cause pursuant to the personnel procedures applicable to the heads of departments of the town.
