The city council hereby adopts the Texas Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, known as article 6701d of Vernon’s Texas Civil Statutes, and all other state motor vehicle laws, as heretofore and hereafter amended, and ordains that such act and laws shall be in full force and effect upon all streets, roads, alleys and thoroughfares within the city. A violation of said act or any state motor vehicle law for which the municipal court has jurisdiction shall constitute and be punishable as a violation of this Code of Ordinances.

(a) 
It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to operate a skateboard, bicycle, roller skates, or roller blades on the public sidewalks along Main Street.
(b) 
Any violation of this section is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine in accordance with the general penalty provision found in section 1.01.009 of this code.

(a) 
It shall hereby be unlawful for any person to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle within a designated school zone and during the designated school zone hours.
(b) 
Any violation of this section is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine in accordance with the general penalty provision found in section 1.01.009 of this code.
