Building materials shall include but not be limited to lumber, bricks, concrete or cinder blocks, plumbing materials, electrical wiring or equipment, heating ducts or equipment, shingles, mortar, concrete, cement, nails, screws or any other materials used in the construction of any structure.

(a) 
Construction for which a town building permit is required. No person shall maintain or permit to be maintained upon any property owned, rented or occupied by such person the outdoor storage of building materials unless:
(1) 
There is a valid building permit issued by the town for construction upon said property; and
(2) 
Said building materials are intended for use in connection with such construction.
(b) 
Outdoor storage of building materials prohibited in absence of construction. Except to the extent permitted in this section, no person shall maintain or permit to be maintained upon any property owned, rented or occupied by such person the outdoor storage of building materials for any period of time in excess of thirty (30) days, unless such area where building materials are stored is screened in compliance with section 4-111 of the town’s zoning ordinance, as amended.

Any person found in violation of any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.00, and each and every day such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
