The vehicle approaching a stop sign erected within the town limits shall come to a complete halt to forward movement and remain halted until the intersection where stopped shall be clear of traffic before proceeding.

(a) 
The town marshal or designated law enforcement authority shall be charged with the responsibility of erecting traffic stop signs.
(b) 
Ordinances designating stop intersections at specific locations are not included in this code, but such ordinances are on file in the city secretary’s office and are specifically saved from repeal upon adoption of the Code of Ordinances.
(c) 
The town marshal or designated law enforcement authority or safety commission designated by the town council shall have the authority to designate and erect such stop signs within the town limits as deemed necessary for the safety of the citizens.
