Editor’s note–Former section 3.09.005 pertaining to the penalty and deriving from the 2000 Code, sec. 13-30, was repealed and deleted in its entirety by Ordinance 19-3687, sec. 4, adopted 3/12/19.
(a) 
The International Property Maintenance Code, as copyrighted in 2015, by the International Code Council, Inc., as hereinafter amended, is specifically adopted as the minimum housing/dangerous building code for the city, and a copy is attached to Ordinance 04-03432 and incorporated herein by reference as though set out completely in detail. Additionally, chapter 214, subchapter A, of the Texas Local Government Code, as amended, is also adopted. This article and chapter 214 shall be read in conjunction with one another but if any provision of this article as outlined in article 3.09 conflicts with chapter 214, subchapter A, the provisions chapter 214 shall control. Likewise, if any provision of chapter 214, subchapter A has been omitted from this article, the city shall be entitled to pursue its remedies in conformity with state law, as amended.
(b) 
A copy of said International Property Maintenance Code shall be filed with the city secretary and a copy maintained in the office of the building official of the city, all such copies to be open to public inspection during business hours of the offices where they are maintained, with amendments thereto.

No person, firm or corporation, whether as owner, lessee, sublessee, or occupant, shall erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, demolish, equip, use, occupy, or maintain any building or premises, or cause or permit the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this code or any order issued by the code enforcement officer hereunder.
