(a) 
The board of zoning adjustment is hereby created with all the powers, duties and responsibilities authorized by Texas Local Gov't Code sections 211.008 through 211.013.
(b) 
The board of zoning adjustment shall consist of five members and two alternates serving two-year staggered terms.

Any person who violates an order of the board of zoning adjustment shall commit an offense. An offense under this section is a class B misdemeanor, punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.
