It shall be the duty of every person who owns a cat at least
four (4) months of age or older, or keeps a cat in or on his own premises
or premises under his control within the city, to have said cat properly
vaccinated each and every year against hydrophobia, commonly called
“the rabies,” by a competent veterinarian duly licensed
to practice such profession in the state.

Every veterinarian who shall vaccinate a cat against rabies
shall furnish the owner of such cat with a certificate thereof, in
triplicate, containing the name of such owner and the age, color,
sex and general description of such cat sufficient to identify such
cat. One (1) copy of the certificate shall be filed by the veterinarian
with the police station record office and kept there as a permanent
record. Along with the certificate of vaccination for a cat, the veterinarian
vaccinating such cat shall furnish the owner thereof with a metal
tag for the cat containing lettering indicating the proper vaccination
and inoculation of the cat, and the year during which the vaccination
was administered, which tag shall be attached to the collar of the
cat.
