There is hereby created the office of supervisor of liquor control for the regulation, control and issuance of licenses and permits for the sale of intoxicating, nonintoxicating and malt liquors within the corporate limits of the city. The mayor of the city shall appoint a supervisor of liquor control with the approval of the board of aldermen.

The supervisor shall receive as compensation for services as such under this article the sum of $2.50 for each hearing held, to be paid by the city.
