It shall be unlawful for any person to have on his property
an open and uncovered well or for any landlord, tenant, or lessee
to allow such to remain on the property he is occupying. All wells
must be either filled in with earth and rock level with the surrounding
ground or be covered with material of sufficient strength to support
at least one thousand (1,000) pounds at any point on the surface.
If several items are used to make the covering they must be securely
bound together in such a manner that they shall not come apart. No
cracks or separation shall exist between the individual items in excess
of two (2) inches in width.

Each day a well remains uncovered shall be deemed a separate
offense and shall constitute a misdemeanor.
