(a) 
The 2018 edition of the International Fire Code, published by the International Code Council, be and the same is hereby adopted by the city along with certain amendments to said code, for:
(1) 
Regulating and governing the safeguard of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises in the city; and
(2) 
Providing for issuance of permits and collection of fees for such permits. All such fees, unless otherwise specified herein, shall be charged, assessed and collected in the amounts and rates set forth in the city’s appendix A fee schedule.
(b) 
The 2018 International Fire Code adopted herein is adopted with certain amendments, true and correct copies of which are attached as exhibit A to Ordinance 2021-1122, and which amendments are incorporated as a part of each of the codes adopted by this section. A copy of the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code including the amendments adopted herein shall be maintained on file in the offices of the city secretary and building official and shall be attached to each of the codes adopted by this section.
