(a) 
The treasurer shall receive and securely keep all money belonging to the municipality. The treasurer shall make all payments on the order of the mayor, attested by a secretary and the minutes filed under the seal of the municipality. The treasurer may not pay an order unless the face of the order shows that the governing body directs the issuance of the order and it shows the purpose for which it is issued.
(b) 
The treasurer shall render the governing body a full statement of the receipts for payments made and present such statement monthly.
(c) 
The treasurer shall perform all other acts and duties the governing body requires.

The treasurer shall execute a bond in favor of the municipality conditioned that the treasurer shall faithfully discharge the duties of the office and the bond shall be in the sum often thousand dollars ($10,000).

The treasurer shall serve a term of office of two (2) years from the date of appointment.

Compensation shall be set by the town council.
