(a)
Every residential and business building or structure within the city limits shall have posted or displayed in a conspicuous place the correct official house or street address number(s) assigned to it on the front of such property in such a manner as to be legible and plainly visible from a public roadway.
(b)
Every nonresidential and every business building or structure within the city limits shall have posted or displayed in a conspicuous place the correct official building or street address number(s) assigned to it on the rear of such property in such a manner as to be legible and plainly visible from a public roadway. Properties with the rear of the structure directly adjacent to a roadway right-of-way are exempt from this requirement, unless a parking lot, alley, or loading area separates the structure from the roadway right-of-way. It shall be the duty and responsibility of every owner, agent, or occupant of any property within the city limits to comply with the provisions and requirements of this section within three (3) months from the date of approval and passage of this section.
(c)
Street address number(s) shall be Arabic block numerals at least four (4) inches high by one-half (1/2) inch wide for residential property and six (6) inches high by one-half (1/2) inch wide for commercial property, and be constructed of a durable, bright material or painted on a permanent structure and of a color that provides a contrast to the background. Placement shall be no fewer than three (3) feet or more than fourteen (14) feet above ground.
(d)
Street address number(s) shall be the duty and responsibility of the owner, agent, or occupant of each residential or business building or structure within the city limits.
