At each intersection described in this article where a yield sign shall be placed, said yield sign shall have the letters “YIELD” and said sign shall be facing in the direction of the traffic which is to stop in front of said sign. The aforementioned yield sign shall be of a size and of configuration which meets the specifications for said sign set forth by the state transportation commission.

Every driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign, if required for safety to stop, shall stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, in the event there is no crosswalk, at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway.
