It shall be unlawful for any person or group of persons to camp
inside the corporate city limits except inside a designated RV park
or campground. For the purposes of this article, camping shall also
include sleeping in a vacant or condemned building. This article will
not apply to people or groups of people who are camping inside the
city limits as part of a special event, when a special event permit
has been approved and issued by the city for the event.

Camping.
Sleeping or staying in any place other than a permanent structure,
such as a residence or building, where the person has a legal right
to be. This shall include sleeping outside of a structure, in a vehicle,
tent, travel trailer, camper or any other temporary structure.

This article shall not apply to person(s) under the age of 18
years of age, their parent or guardian while camping with the juvenile(s),
who camp on property owned by that person or another person with the
owner’s permission for a temporary period.

That if any provision or any section of this article shall be
held to be void or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way
affect the validity of the remaining provisions or sections of this
article, which shall remain in full force and effect.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00)
provided, however, that no penalty shall be greater or less than the
penalty provided for the same or a similar offense under the laws
of the state.

This article shall become effective after approval and publication
