(a) 
Prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge an air rifle or air pistol or other instrument, by whatever name known, which by means of compressed air, compressed gas, springs or by any other means is capable of discharging shots, pellets or any solid object at a velocity in excess of 300 feet per second, within the corporate limits of the city.
(b) 
Penalty.
A person who shall violate this section, or fail to comply therewith, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code.

(a) 
Prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge or fire any firearm within the corporate limits of the city.
(b) 
Exceptions.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to any police officer in the actual performance of his official duty, nor shall the terms of this section apply to the discharge of firearms in a good faith attempt to prevent a burglary of a person’s premises, or a good faith attempt to destroy predatory animals.
(c) 
Penalty.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code.
