(a) Swimming pool rental fee summary.

The number of required lifeguards depends on the number of swimmers.
If additional swimmers - beyond the stated rental agreement - enter
the water the rental deposit will be deducted accordingly.
(2)
City residents: $200.00 for two hours; $250.00 for three hours
- (2 lifeguards).
(3)
Nonresidents: $225.00 for two hours; $275.00 for three hours
- (2 lifeguards).
(4)
If the 50 swimmers limit is exceeded, an additional cost of
$50.00 per hour per extra lifeguard needed will be charged for city
residents; and $60.00 for visitors (nonresidents).

Only pre-paid patrons with a colored identification band may

(c) Splash pad fee summary.

- enter the splash pad area the rental deposit will be deducted accordingly.

(d) Aquatic facility rental summary.
(1)
Reservation of the event date and time slot requires the full
advanced payment in addition to the $150.00 deposit. A $250.00 deposit
is required if both the swimming pool and splash pad are reserved
on the same day.
(2)
Deposits will be refunded about 10 days after an event provided
there is no last-minute cancellation, excess trash, damage, etc. to
the facility. The city will retain the rental deposit if the cancellation
is not made at least three working days prior to the scheduled event.
(3)
Event setup can begin 30 minutes prior to the event at the pavilion
- no swimmers or guests at that time. Guests will be allowed to enter
the facility at the start of the event. Food, decorations, tables,
and chairs can be brought into the facility. No loose balloons. Balloons
must be secured on the fence as there are large fans in the pavilion.
(4)
The city manager reserves the right to close the aquatic center
in the event of inclement weather event i.e., lightning within 10
miles - until the weather event has passed for 30 minutes or in the
event of other safety-related considerations. No refunds - sorry -
staff and supplies must be paid.
(5)
No alcohol, charcoal/gas grills, or glass containers are allowed
in any part of the sports complex to include the aquatic facility.
(e) Aquatic center swim lessons.
(1)
The city is pleased to pilot a swimming lessons program. The
group classes will involve approximately 12 classes over a three-week
period.
(A)
An advanced payment of $50.00 per city resident as priority
registrants - no refunds - is required. Registration and payment at
city hall.
(B)
Based on class availability, the visitor - nonresident - swimming
lesson fee is $60.00.
(C)
Regular and punctual attendance is required to continue in the
swimming class.
(D)
The classes consist of approximately twelve 45-minute sessions
taught by certified lifeguards.
(E)
No walk-ins once classes have started.
(F)
Register for swim class in person at city hall:
(i)
Beginner class: Learn the basics.
Learn to swim.
Learn the basic strokes. Learn water safety. Float on the back as
a safety measure; be familiar with simply rescue measures.
(ii) Swimmer class: Improve swimming skills and strokes.
Able to swim free style 25 yards and float on the back. Gain
proficiency in the swimming strokes.
(iii) Advanced swimmer class: Swim for fitness.
Refine the front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke,
and build endurance.

(f) Aquatic facility leadership and oversight.
The city
manager overseeing the aquatic center staff has previously been certified
as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor - an all-level swim
instructor, including certifying of lifeguards; and certified by the
Boy Scout of America (BSA) as an aquatic director - as an all-level
swim instructor, including training of lifeguards. His aquatic program
experience includes working at municipal pools (5 seasons); private
club pools (3 seasons); and Boy Scout District Camp Aquatic Director
(1 seasons); and he was trained as a FEMA Emergency Management Coordinator.
The city manager has taught, qualified, and/or certified over 1,000+
swimmers during his aquatic experiences.
