There are hereby adopted by the city the state traffic regulations, Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes article 6701d et seq., which regulations are adopted by reference as if fully set forth at length herein. Three (3) copies of said regulations are on file in the office of the city secretary.
Editor’s note–Since adoption of this provision, the regulations contained in the Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways (V.T.C.S., article 6701d) have been recodified and are now located in V.T.C.A., Transportation Code.

Subject only to the approval of the city council, the chief of police is authorized to establish and cause to be maintained the following where, in his opinion, there is a public necessity for same: crosswalks, safety zones, traffic lanes, loading zones, passenger zones, speed zones, police and fire reserved zones, school zones, fire lanes and parking spaces.
