Any person, firm, or corporation desiring to engage in the business of, or to operate a circus, an exhibition of common showmen, carnival, a show of any kind, an exhibition of natural or artificial curiosities, a caravan, a menagerie, or a musical exhibition and performance, within one thousand feet (1,000') of any residence located within the city limits of the City of Pineland, Texas, shall make written application to the city council setting forth in writing the exact location such person, firm, or corporation proposed to use for such purposes, the day or days on which such person, firm, or corporation proposes to use such premises for such purposes, and the exact purposes for which such premises are to be used. The city council may approve or disapprove said application at any meeting, regular or special.
