There is hereby adopted the 2020 edition of the International Residential Code, regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories in height with separate means of egress in the city; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor.

The following sections within the International Residential Code, 2020 edition, are hereby revised:
Section R101.1. Insert: City of Onalaska.
Table R301.2(1). Insert: 5 ppf; 100 mph; No; C; Negligible.; 12 in.; heavy; 32 deg; No; Zone A; 50 days; 68 deg.
Section P2603.6.1. Insert: Twelve (12) inches in two locations.
Section R402.2. Insert: Amendment - The builder must use a minimum size of 3/8" (#3) reinforcement bar.
Section R403.1. Insert: Amendment – Prohibit the use of welded wire in residential slabs and driveways. The builder must use a minimum of 3/8" (#3) rebar in residential slabs (on 18" centers) with a minimum of 4-1/2" (#4) rebar in the beams.
Section R602.10. Insert: Amendment - continuous sheathing method of wall bracing shall be used as listed in 602.10.4.
Section E30702.13. Insert: Amendment – (12) gauge shall be the minimum wire size for circuit receptacle outlets.
