A person, firm or corporation shall not install, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or replace any mechanical system, or cause the same to be done, without first obtaining a mechanical permit for such building or mechanical system from the mechanical official.

Before any mechanical permit may be issued, a performance bond in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) shall be in force and filed with the office of the building official. Such bond shall expire on the last day of January of each year. Bond forms will be provided by the city.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation who is not the holder of an unexpired, unrevoked license to engage in any business or perform any work in connection with constructing, installing, maintaining, extending, repairing or replacing any mechanical systems.
