Editor’s note–Former section 11.06.047 pertaining to permits for parking on a portion of Shamrock Lane, was repealed by Ordinance 2025-09 adopted 4/1/2025. Prior to the deletion, this section derived from the following: 1976 Code, secs. 31-151, 31-152; 1998 Code, secs. 126-347, 126-348 and 2013 Code, secs. 56-316, 56-317.
The provisions of this division prohibiting the standing or parking of a vehicle shall apply at all times or at those times herein specified or as indicated on official signs, except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic-control device.

The provisions of this division imposing a time limit on parking shall not relieve any person from the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles in specified places or at specified times.

When signs are erected in each block giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified by ordinance on any day, except Sundays and public holidays, within the district or upon any of the streets described by ordinance.

Whenever any parking time limit is imposed or parking is prohibited on designated streets by this division or any ordinance of the city, it shall be the duty of the city traffic engineer to erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulations shall be effective unless such signs are erected and in place at the time of any alleged offense.

(a) 
Parking is hereby prohibited at all times on the following streets:
(1) 
California Parkway East (excluding the street right-of-way between Anglin Drive and Hartman Road).
(2) 
South frontage road of I-20 (SE Loop 820), between Wichita Street and Forest Hill Drive.
(3) 
Wichita Street.
(4) 
Forest Hill Drive between SE Loop 820 and Lon Stevenson Road.
(5) 
Bisbee Street (between Horton Road and Mansfield Highway).
(b) 
On all days in which school is in session, stopping, standing and parking, other than for the expeditious loading and unloading of school buses, are hereby prohibited between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., on the following streets:
(1) 
Forest Hill Drive between Horton Road and George Avenue.
