(a) 
There is hereby established a city youth advisory council to be composed of sixteen (16) members to be confirmed by the city council. The members shall be residents of the city and must attend one of the following schools:
(1) 
Beaumont United.
(2) 
Harmony Science Academy.
(3) 
Legacy Christian Academy.
(4) 
Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School.
(5) 
Beaumont Early College High School.
(6) 
West Brook High School.
(b) 
The advisory council will be composed of two (2) members from each school listed in subsection (a).
(c) 
The members shall meet at least once per month.
(d) 
The members serve at the pleasure of the city council.
(e) 
Wavier for 2 years that allows students to participate without a mandatory number from each school.

The duties of the city's youth advisory council shall be advisory in nature and shall consist of the following:
(1) 
Serve as the voice of the youth in the community.
(2) 
Serve in an advisory capacity to the city council regarding youth programs and activities.
(3) 
Encourage youth to learn about and become involved in city government.

Members of the youth advisory council shall serve a nine (9) month term, beginning in September and concluding in May of the following year.
