There is hereby created an examining and supervising board of electrical contractors and electricians of the city. Such board shall consist of three (3) members as follows: the fire marshal, the electrical inspector, and the city manager. The members of the board shall continue as such members while holding their respective offices with the city. If for any reason any member of the board shall be unable to act or shall resign from his position, or if he shall be removed for cause, then the mayor, upon consent of the city council, shall appoint a successor, who will fill the unexpired term or until a successor is regularly appointed.

The electrical inspector shall act as secretary of the board created in this division and shall keep a full record of the proceedings of the board.

The board created in this division shall be supplied with proper books of record, blank forms and other necessary stationery and supplies by the city.

It shall be the duty of the board created in this division, at such time as it may deem proper, to submit to the mayor and city council written suggestions and recommendations for the improvement of electrical wiring and its associated electrical subjects in the city.

The mayor and city council may remove any member of the board created in this division during the term for which he is appointed for sufficient cause. If any charge is filed against such member either by the city council, on its own motion, or by any member of the council, or by any person residing in the city, the complainant shall prepare and file with the city secretary a petition for such removal, under oath, in which he shall set forth specifically his charge against the member. The mayor, upon presentation of such charges in proper form, shall fix a time and place for a hearing of such charges, notify the person charged and afford him a full opportunity to be heard. After a full hearing, the council shall make such order relative thereto as in its opinion shall be proper. The action of the council in such matters shall be final.
