To insure the general welfare and quality of life of its citizens, the city council has passed and approved this article regulating garage sales.

For the purpose of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
The sale of any personal belongings, personal property or merchandise from a residence within the city limits.

For purposes of this article, yard sales, estate sales and any other type of sale based from one’s residence within the city limits shall fall under the parameters of this article.

All sales falling under the perimeters of this article shall be conducted on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Sales conducted on any other day are prohibited.

Before conducting any type of sale that falls under the parameters of this article, an individual must obtain a permit from city hall authorizing such a sale. At the time of the issuance of any such permit, a copy of this article shall be provided to the individual. A permit shall be issued free of charge.

Any signs, banners, or other publicly posted advertisements for a sale shall be removed by Sunday at 12:00 noon.
