The police department shall consist of the police chief and
may consist of an authorized strength.

It shall be the duty of the police department to see to the
enforcement of all ordinances of the town and the laws of the state
and the United States, to preserve order, and to prevent infractions
of the law, and to arrest violators of the law within the boundaries
of the town.

The town manager shall appoint the police chief. The police
chief will be responsible to the town manager.

The police chief shall make recommendation to the council for
the appointment of and dismissal of officers of the department.
