Copies of Ordinance 05-09-05 and the 2003 edition of the International Electrical Code as published by the National Fire Protection Association will be kept on file in the office of the city secretary. This code regulates and governs residential, commercial, and industrial installation and maintenance of electrical components and devices used for the distribution of electrical power within residential, commercial, and industrial structures within the city limits.

The geographical limits referred to in certain sections of the 2003 International Electrical Code are hereby set and intended to include all of the area within the corporate city limits, as adopted and approved by the city council.

Any person, persons, citizen, corporation, business, or employee thereof who violates any provision of this division or any section or subsection of this division, upon conviction, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof in municipal court, shall be subject to a fine in a sum not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or the current maximum allowable by state law. Each day in violation shall be considered a separate offense.
