A certain document, one copy of which is on file and is open for the inspection by the public in the office of the city manager, being marked and designated as the International Property Maintenance Code, 2021 edition as published by the International Code Council, is now adopted as the property maintenance code of the city, for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical structures and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use, and the demolition of such existing structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor; and each and all regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions of terms of said property maintenance code on file in the office of the city manager are now referred to, adopted, made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this division, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in section 3.02.482.

The following sections of the property maintenance code are hereby revised:

Whenever in the property maintenance code an act is prohibited or made or declared to be unlawful or an offense, or wherever in such code the doing of an act is declared unlawful and no specific penalty is provided thereof, the violation of any provision of such code or such ordinance shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00; provided, however, that no penalty shall be greater or lesser than the penalty provided for the same or similar offense under the laws of the state. Each day any violation of this code or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.

The city reserves the right at any time, to change, amend, alter, repeal, rescind, or add to these rules and regulations or any part thereof or to adopt any new rule or regulations or any temporary exception with the respect to the International Property Maintenance Code or anything pertaining thereto.
